North Omaha Community Conversation Forum Set For Tuesday
Stand For Schools will hold a community forum at the Revive Center Omaha, 2402 Lizzie Robinson Avenue (24th and Lake), in North Omaha, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, on Tuesday, December 3rd. The event is free to attend and open to all.
Community members are invited to join Omaha Public Schools high-school principals, parents, and community leaders for a conversation about public education in North Omaha. The conversation will include successes and struggles in K-12 schools as well as information about how to get involved.
The RSVP link is bit.ly/2Oaw7NE; appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. Event host Stand for Schools is a Nebraska-based nonprofit dedicated to “our state’s ongoing tradition of public school excellence.”
The organization's Outreach Coordinator, Melina Cohen, hopes for a strong turnout and encourages everyone to participate, saying, “Our public schools are worth fighting for, and this is a really important opportunity for people to hear from administrators and others about public education policies that will impact schools in North Omaha and across the state.”
