Culxr House Grand Opening Creates Open Space for Creatives
Culxr House was founded as an event venue and artist incubator, with a recording studio, record shop and sustainable clothing. It houses community programs such as Tuesday Open Mic. On Saturday, December 7th, 2019, the folks behind this unique endeavor are “excited to welcome you” to their official grand opening.

Culxr House founder Marcey Yates said, “This is a dream come true. Never before in North Omaha has there existed such an innovative, community hub that focuses on providing artists and creatives a safe space to grow their talent and obtain access to resources necessary to turn their art into economic opportunity.” Yates has been developing the model for over a year, and tailored its operations in response to the callenges of space and access. “The Culxr House exits to bridge both social and economic gaps through the cultivation of talent and artistry within the inner city.”
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Marcey Yates, representing Culxr House, attened a community group with Heartland Works Center’s Young Nebraskans in Action this past week, to discuss agenda setting, turnout, communications and media. Young Nebraskans in Action will be registering people to vote during Culxr House's grand opening on Saturday, December 7.
