Friday, Oct. 23, was the deadline for in-person voter registration at the election commission office. Vote-by-mail requests were to be received by the Douglas County Election Commission also by October 23.
If you still have not registered to vote, please do so to participate in the Omaha 2021 municipal elections.
Voting in person
If you are a registered voter, you can cast ballot at the Election Commission, or take the ballot home as long as the ballot is returned to the Election Commission or a drop box location before 8:00 p.m. on election day. All in-person early voting takes place at the Douglas County Election Commission, 12220 W Center Road, Omaha, NE 68144.
A voter can cast an early in-person vote through November 2. Melissa Breazile from Nebraska Civic Engagement Table told NOISE, "We've been talking about this as a safer in-person option to beat the lines on Election Day." Breazile continued, “I think early in-person is a good option for people who like to go to the poll but are worried about going on November 3rd due to bigger crowds, and it's also a good option if folks don't get their vote-by-mail requests in by the deadline [October 23]."
On election day and at the polls, remember to physically distance and to wear a mask or face covering.
If you need to return your early ballot, you can take it to an election drop box postage free at these locations:
